January 30 - February 2, 2025 in Sweden

What happens at the edge between darkness and light, still in the silence of the deep Winter night but with cracks of Spring light?

Come join us deep in the Swedish forest during the weekend of Imbolc - where the nights are still long yet the light is increasing in intensity and the soil will soon ready for new seeds.

Together and alone we will gather around story, journaling, stillness, nature-immersion, rest, around the fire, nourishing foods, sauna and lake-swimming.

We will explore the hope, the mystery, the potency of the darkness.

What is this liminal space asking of us, and asking us to become? How can we tune into this edge within and beyond, take stock of what this Winter phase taught us and which seeds to offer a new life-cycle?

It has always been a radical act to share stories during dark times. They are regenerative spaces of creation and renewal.
— Emmanuel Vaughn-Lee

During the dark time of Winter in the northern hemisphere we will gather as kin around the fire in the forest immersing ourselves in deep inquiries and conversations about the less spoken sides of taking leadership for a new way of being on this earth.

THEMES AND INQUIRIES WE WILL EXPLORE DURING OUR DAYS TOGETHER

  • What is offered when we give space to the vast stillness of this season?

  • What happens when we allow the silence to not only bring answers but maybe offer even deeper questions? Or nothing?

  • What does surrendering require? What ‘gets in the way’?

  • What is our relationship to urgency in times like ours?

  • How do we respond to the sense of urgency we witness and feel in our bones, without burning out?

  • Is certainty really what is needed?

  • How do we navigate the foggy liminal place between worlds without the need for a detailed map and instructions?

  • How can we be with these questions without directing solely from a fixing and solution way of being and thinking?

As leaders, regenerative culture shifters and makers, earth tenders and human beings, we need spaces to give voice to these stirrings.

Our intention and hope and offer is to hold these complex themes collectively and not alone. Around a fire. Without PowerPoint slides, workbooks, lectures and a rigid programme yet still held softly and grounded.

What better time to do that than the time that the trees and the forest is still and silent after a long Winter yet buzzing with new potential deep within?

PICTURES FROM THE SPACE WHERE WE WILL GATHER: “Skoven Kalder”

ABOUT THE VENUE & ACCOMMODATION: “Skoven Kalder” (“the woods are calling”)
”Skoven Kalder”  is located in the forest outside of the small town Ryd in Sweden. A 2,5-3 hour drive from Copenhagen, 40 min less from Malmö.  If you have a car, and if you want to share travel and costs  with other participants, we can help you coordinate this. You can also take the train to Mörrum. It takes 2,5 hours directly from Copenhagen Central Station, 1,45 min from Malmö.  In Mörrum you can be picked up if we coordinate your arrival with other participants. The fee for the taxi bus depends on the number  of passengers but it is appr 120 DK per person and per trip.

“Skoven Kalder” is deep in the Swedish woods and a cluster of newly renovated cabins with a main house where all meals are served. There’s plenty of spaces to cosy up by a fireplace - either in groups or solo if you so desire. The atmosphere is basic luxury - lovely scandinavian design yet still closely immersed in nature. You share toilets and showers with those in your cabin but there’s a few private rooms on a first come first served basis (extra charge is 500 DKK) - all other rooms are double but lovely and spacious. There’s showers and toilets near all cabins (so you are app 4 who shares a shower/toilet).

There’s a sauna overlooking the lake and the main hall for yoga and masterclasses is overlooking the forest.

All meals will be prepared for us throughout the entire stay.

WHAT TO BRING

  • Comfortable and warm clothes that can ensure you’re warm for an entire weekend outside (we may be inside from time to time – but bring enough warm layers to keep you warm outside for longer periods). Layers are best, since the weather might change.

  • Rain gear and comfortable hiking boots or sturdy sneakers.

  • A pen

  • A journal

  • A water bottle

  • Thermos cup

WHAT ELSE TO KNOW?
The food is vegetarian. Please let us know if you are vegan or have any food allergies. You can notify us in the sign-up form below.

We suggest you notify your family and friends that you will be offline the entire stay - unless it is very important. You can also give them our number and hand over your phone to us. The extra benefits and sense of being grounded and connected to the nature within and around when we are not online is so unique and rare.
